Following on from the success of our co-working and office space in the Tramshed building in Cardiff, we are excited to be taking the next steps towards cultivating a multi-site, cross-sector community of with our new spaces in Carmarthen and Newtown.
Our Carmarthen Hub will be based in the new Canolfan S4C Yr Egin building where we will be offering flexible desk space, business support, private offices and community events to help nurture both entrepreneurs and scaling businesses alike. The hub will also benefit from the presence of leading digital skills trainers Big Learning Company who have recently opened their second office and new training centre in Yr Egin.
The hub is located on the University of Wales Trinity Saint David’s (UWTSD) Carmarthen campus and is linked to Bridge Innovation Centre in Pembroke, The Beacon in Llanelli and Coleg Sir Gar. We will be working with in partnership with Business in Focus, UWTSD, Wales Cooperative Centre as well as Carmarthen and Pembrokeshire County Councils to deliver far-reaching access to business support and flexible desk space.
The historic Pryce Jones building in Newtown town centre will become our Newtown Hub, enabling the provision of business advice, support and facilities to pre-scale and scaling businesses across Ceredigion and Powys. The Newtown Hub will be delivered with our partners Business in Focus, Robert Owen Community Banking Fund, University of Wales Trinity Saint David, University of Aberystwyth and Coleg Ceredigion.
As ever, the principles of collaboration will be central to each site’s ethos as we strive to facilitate technological innovation between Welsh companies operating on an international stage.
Mark John, Chief Operating Officer of Tramshed Tech commented on the news;
“We are looking forward to extending our reach into West Wales and Mid Wales and ensuring businesses are supported in both rural Wales and in the city centres. We are keen to engage with the community in both Mid and South West Wales, cementing our partnership with Business in Focus and the Hub partner teams.
We’ve already started developing a programme of meetups, workshops and co-working solutions to support these new hubs and the next generation of businesses they will help to grow. As with our Cardiff location, these new locations will place an emphasis on innovation through collaboration and creating a diverse and inclusive community across different sectors.”
