We are looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused barista to join our team! As a barista, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality coffee, beverages, and light food items while delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment. Your role will include creating a welcoming atmosphere, ensuring cleanliness, and contributing to the overall café experience for our guests.
Who are Da Coffi?
Da Coffi is an independent coffee shop that celebrates community, collaboration, and—of course—coffee! We serve expertly brewed coffee from Coaltown Coffee, locally sourced food, and provide a warm, inviting atmosphere. Our first location opened in 2023 at One Central Square, Cardiff, as part of the vibrant Tramshed Tech community.

We’re looking for experienced baristas who can provide exceptional customer service and thrive in a busy environment. You’ll play a key role in launching the café, helping establish operations, define systems, and create strong connections with our customers. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated team player eager to grow with the company and take on new responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and Serve Beverages: Craft a variety of hot and cold beverages including espresso, cappuccinos, lattes, teas, and specialty drinks according to company recipes and customer preferences.

Food Preparation: Prepare light food items such as sandwiches, salads, pastries, and snacks following established recipes and health standards. Ensure all food is fresh, properly stored, and presented attractively.

Customer Service: Greet customers warmly, take orders, and provide an exceptional experience by addressing any questions or special requests.

Maintain Cleanliness: Keep the café, counter, food prep area, and workspaces clean, organised, and sanitised throughout the shift. Ensure all equipment is in proper working condition.

Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels of coffee, food ingredients, milk, syrups, and other supplies, and notify management when inventory is low.

Team Collaboration: Work efficiently with other team members to ensure smooth operations, timely service, and a well-coordinated food and beverage experience.

Product Knowledge: Stay updated on the menu, food offerings, and any new items. Suggest food and drink pairings based on customer preferences, and provide information on ingredients when necessary.

Adhere to Safety and Health Regulations: Follow all food safety, sanitation, and
hygiene standards according to local guidelines.

Ambassador: Acting in accordance with, and as an ambassador for Tramshed Tech in a new hospitality section of the business.

Welcoming existing members as well as new customers and introducing them to the Tramshed Tech ecosystem.
Qualifications:

Previous Experience: Prior experience as a barista or in food prep/service is preferred, but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate!

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Basic math skills for handling payments and inventory.

Familiarity with food safety standards is a plus.
