Bookkeeper



Tramshed Tech is looking for conscientious Bookkeeper that will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, defining and implementing bookkeeping policies and procedures, and ensuring compliance with legal requirements. 

 

This is a part time role with the potential to increase to full time as business needs demand.

 

Working Hours:

  • 3 days per week 

    • 2 days on site and 1 day remote (with flexibility)

We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Bookkeeper to join our team and help manage our financial operations.

Role Overview

The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, defining and implementing bookkeeping policies and procedures, and ensuring compliance with legal requirements. This role involves working closely with the Commercial Strategy Director and the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to prepare monthly financial reports and assist in various financial activities.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Record Maintenance : Maintain and update financial records by posting and verifying transactions using XERO. Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.

 

  • Bookkeeping Policies and Procedures : Define and implement bookkeeping policies and procedures to ensure efficient financial operations. Regularly review and update policies to align with best practices and legal requirements.

 

  • Ledger Management : Maintain a balanced ledger by monitoring and reconciling all accounts. Identify and rectify discrepancies in financial records.

 

  • Financial Reporting : Collaborate with the Commercial Strategy Director and SLT to prepare monthly financial reports. Collect, analyse, and summarize accounting data to support strategic decision-making.

 

  • Compliance and Legal Requirements : Ensure all financial practices comply with relevant legal requirements and industry standards. Stay updated on changes in regulations and adjust practices as needed.

 

  • Budget Monitoring : Monitor financial performance against the projected budget. Identify variances and provide insights and recommendations for corrective actions.

 

  • Financial Activities : Assist with running payroll, ensuring accuracy and timely payments. Assist with VAT returns. Generate and issue invoices to customers and follow up on outstanding payments.

 

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar financial role.

  • Proficiency in using XERO accounting software.

  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and financial regulations.

  • Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Ability to analyse financial data and generate insightful reports.

  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Relevant bookkeeping or accounting experience preferred.

Desired Skills

  • Experience in a tech or startup environment is a plus.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
