What will the event cover?

Following the success of Barclays Eagle Labs AI breakfast event in November, they're keeping the momentum going by bringing the AI ecosystem together again. This time, they've organised a panel to dive into the key topics around investment opportunities, identifying the right customers and exploring effective market strategies.

Recognizing a gap in the market for founder-focused meet-ups in AI, the AI and Emerging Tech team have been running an AI Breakfast Club in collaboration with Twin Path Ventures and RISE since the start of 2024. These events, exclusively for AI-first founders, have consistently sold out, with over 120 founders gathering monthly for industry-focused talks and networking.

Cai Gwinnutt - Cai is the technical co-founder of Open Moove, a proptech company changing the way to sell property. He's worked across the startup space for 20 years in FinTech, MedTech, AI and Cyber - including helping to design and run incubators with Google, British Business Bank, Barclays Eagle Labs and Government focusing on root to market, grant and capital funding.

Andrea Jones - Andrea Jones brings over 25 years of experience of leading large-scale digital transformation for companies such as Microsoft. With a passion for driving business change and boosting productivity using secure and ethical technology. As a recognised expert in designing and deploying AI Agents, creating AI business strategies, and driving measurable productivity enhancements, Andrea is dedicated to sharing her knowledge and experience to drive end-user AI adoption and democratise AI for everyone.

Phil Sampson - Phil is an Investment Director, supporting the CCR IIC fund. With a £50m remit for multi-million pound investments in scale up, innovative businesses across the Cardiff Capital Region, the fund is currently 2 years old, having made 4 investments to date, across a variety of sectors. 

Hamza Afal & Bilal Brar- Co Founders of Trust AI. Trust AI evaulates your modules for security, bias, fairness, and more then analyses the impact and guides you to fix the issues with a AI powered assistant

Jessica Harrison -Jessica Harrington is a seasoned transformation leader with over 25 years of experience driving digital and business transformation across both corporate giants and SMEs. With a background in mechanical engineering and a career spanning senior leadership roles in global companies and a leader in large-scale transformation programs.

Who is this event for?

Building on the momentum of these events, and the success of the roadshow in 2024, recognising ecosystems outside of the Golden Triangle, BEL wanted to keep the conversations and network growing. This meet-up will help identify, develop, engage and champion the Welsh AI ecosystem, the event will include a panel discussion, live Demo provided by a local start-up.

The event provides opportunities for collaboration and networking along with thought leadership discussions and opportunities to share product and proposition.
