The Future Workplace Is Changing: Univentures Entrepreneur Programme

Research shows that the majority of Gen Z want to explore business ownership, but despite their enthusiasm, they face challenges, like a lack of resources. The UniVentures Programme aims to support the next generation of entrepreneurs by collaborating with Welsh universities and partners, delivering comprehensive support for promising start-ups.

The Future Workplace Is Changing: Univentures Entrepreneur Programme

The future workplace is changing. A new generation is rising and influencing the business world.

Generation Z has been shaped by a range of unique global movements and innovative tech advancements which have led to new skill sets and belief systems.

Born between 1997 to 2012, this generation, Gen Z will make up around 27% of the workforce by 2025.

To support this trend, Tramshed Tech alongside partners Barclays Eagle Labs has launched a new entrepreneur programme in support of student tech achievers, the UniVentures Programme.

Gen Z, a generation shaped by unique tech and global movements will make up 27% of the workforce by 2025.

New research from ZenBusiness highlights that ninety-three per cent of Gen-Zers have taken a step toward exploring business ownership and seventy-five percent want to launch their own businesses.

In addition, 80% of Gen Z entrepreneurs have launched their business online or had a mobile component

Although this generation has a keen appetite to be business owners, they still face problems, with 62% of Gen Z business owners naming a lack of resources (budget, people, or time) as their main business struggle.

With the research clearly showing the need for support for this generation of entrepreneurs, the UniVentures programme is designed to support student start-ups and University spinouts to gain traction on innovative ideas and technologies.

With research showing the need to support Gen Z entrepreneurs, the UniVentures programme aims to support student start-ups and develop innovative ideas.

At Tramshed Tech, we will be working with Universities across Wales including Cardiff University, Swansea University and Aberystwyth University, to provide a comprehensive package of support for scaling high-growth start-ups. Supporting partners include Wales Innovation Network, Icure and Delsion

We’ve seen many student entrepreneurs come through our programmes, like start-ups Virtus Tech and Lumen SEO, and now Tramshed Tech is exclusively focusing on this demographic.

With the entrepreneur programme starting in late July, we’re excited to see this next cohort explore their business ideas.
